The GMOEA was established on June 12 1963, with its registered office at Panaji Goa . The Association was formed to promote, support, protect, maintain and increase the export trade of Mineral Ores in Goa.
The Association is empowered to make representations on behalf of its members to various Central & State Government authorities and other local authorities. The Association is also represented on various Central and State Government bodies and Advisory Boards.
Besides, statistics and other information regarding the manufacture or trade in Mineral Ores in various countries is also collected and published as Annual Statistics and monthly periodicals respectively. See our Publications.
The GMOEA also lays down standards of quality in respect of Mineral Ores intended for export.
The Association operates through three principal wings.

The Managing Committee: Which is elected every year. |

The Permanent Secretariat: Which implements decisions & policies to achieve the objectives of the Association |

The Standing Committee: Consists of experts in various fields such as Mining , Shipping , Ports , Railways & River Navigation, Task Force on Barge Crew and Environment & Forests, which help the Managing Committee in making Policy decisions. |
These experts are selected by the Managing Committee from amongst the Association members' and their employees. The Chairman and Co- Chairman are however the members of the Association.
